Software Engineer – Animation, Harmonix Music Systems
Location: Cambridge, MA

As an Animation Engineer, you will work closely with artists to bring life and motion to our games’ characters on multiple platforms, managing artist-facing tools and pipelines as well as the engine-level animation code.
Responsibilities:
Implement robust, user-friendly, artist-facing tools and pipelines.
Manage engine-level code for animation playback in game.
Write clean, bug-resistant, well-documented and efficient code.
Qualifications:
BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of C++ programming for PC or console (game industry a plus but not required)
Experience providing great tools or data pipelines
Strong applied math skills (linear algebra, geometry, vector math)
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
Previous experience with animation system code (playback, retargeting, compression, IK, etc.)
Experience using or writing plugins/scripts for 3D programs (3D Studio Max, Maya, Motion Builder)
Some art/animation/computer graphics background or experience working closely with artists
