UniProtKB description:  Epimerase required for the biosynthesis of the B-band O antigen of serotype O6 lipopolysaccharide (PubMed:10627048). Catalyzes the reversible epimerization of UDP-N-acetylglucosaminuronic acid (UDP-GlcNAcA) to UDP-N-acetylgalactosaminuronic acid (UDP-GalNAcA) (PubMed:18065759). Also catalyzes the reversible epimerization of UDP-N-acetylglucosamine (UDP-GlcNAc) to UDP-N-acetylgalactosamine (UDP-GalNAc) (PubMed:10747995, PubMed:15016816, PubMed:15752069). Has very low epimerase activity with UDP-glucose (UDP-Glc) and UDP-galactose (UDP-Gal) (PubMed:10747995, PubMed:15016816, PubMed:15752069).
